Burger’s Priest

For anyone that lives in Toronto, one of the most talked about burger place is Burger’s Priest. It has been opened for quite a while, but every time I passed by the place, there would be big line. I finally had a chance to visit the place in the middle of October.

The inside of the restaurant is much smaller than I expected. I knew it was smaller, but it was much smaller than imagined. I didn’t take in much of the interior as I should have but the place looked clean. The front of the restaurant occupied some tables and chairs that were crammed together. This most certainly is not the place to take a group of people to eat at.

Anyway, let’s get on to the burgers.

When you take a look at the Burger’s Priest website, they have their traditional menu. But, they also have a secret menu. To access the secret menu, you have to answer a question about Noah’s ark. You can try more than once to answer it, so basically everyone has access to the secret menu.

They have some interesting burger combos in their secret menu. Some are way over the top with the fillings and look impossible to chomp on. Originally I wasn’t going to order an item from their secret menu. However, I figured I’d only visit this restaurant once so I might as well go all out.

I ended up ordering the “Vatican City.” The burger has two grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns, two double beef patties, cheese, and whatever toppings you select. I ended going with all toppings except for mayo.

The photo above is what mine ended up looking like. One word to describe the burger: Greasy. There was an excess amount of grease in this burger. I know it’s expected to be greasy, but this was not a good greasy feeling. I’m surprised the burger didn’t drip puddles of grease. However, the patties were good. They were juicy and flavourful. Other than that, there wasn’t anything special to the burger. I did have a difficult time trying to bite into the burger. My first few bites barely got both grilled cheese sandwich buns. It wasn’t until halfway through the burger that I could finally eat it properly. The fries weren’t that great either. McDonald’s has better fries, in my opinion. Also, it is quite pricey at Burger’s Priest. For the “Vatican City” burger, it was about $11, plus I got a drink, so it came close to $15.

Overall, my experience at Burger’s Priest wasn’t special. The burger didn’t have the “wow” factor I was looking for. I’ve eaten at Shake Shack before, and for a much smaller burger, I enjoyed that much more. However, if you’re curious about the place, I suggest visiting it once and ordering an item from the secret menu. But otherwise, I suggest saving your money and going some place else.

I heard so many good things about this place too and I wanted to visit and try it out next time I go to Toronto, but I’ll pass. Thanks for your review!

No problem! Thanks for checking out my review 🙂 The hype was why I had to check out the place. Next on my list is Parts & Labour.

Here's a cheesy pic. / Voici une photo ringarde. 🧀🍟
⠀
#FlashbackFriday to my quick mini trip to Montréal a month ago. I couldn't visit the city and not have poutine! This particular one is the Classic poutine, regular size ($7.95), from La Banquise @restolabanquise.
⠀
I ordered it to go and even through the cold walk and subway ride, the cheese was still cheesy and squeaky (Swipe to see how cheesy it really got). The gravy, which is vegetarian gravy, was good too but I definitely needed more. The fries ended up being dry at the end because I needed more. Although getting takeout and waiting more than 20 minutes to eat it after probably caused it.
⠀
However, I would still recommend this place. It tasted how a true poutine should be. It's also one of the popular poutine places in Montréal—when I went around 8 PM on a Wednesday, it was packed! 🍽

Always have a Swede tooth so there's Norway I would not eat this Danish pastry.
⠀
#FlashbackFriday to one of the best pastries I've had, and I've been to Europe. SO. SO. GOOD.
⠀
If you're ever in downtown Montreal, definitely take a visit to @LePetitDep. It's such a cute little convenience type of store with ready-to-eat meals.

Doughnut worry, I saved my favourite for the last post of 2019 🍩🍩🍩
⠀
Pictured here is The Trio from @cops.doughnuts, featuring the Original Sour Cream Glaze, Cinnamon Sugar, and the Eggnog Glaze. @joshismissing and I devoured all of this, along with two other doughnuts from two other places on this day, and we could have had a lot more 😂

If you ever hang out with me, be prepared to eat LOTS of 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩

My last noodz post of the year 😂🍜
⠀
The day that @alt.aria and I went to the @toxmasmarket, we decided to have dinner in that area. We chose @bokudistillery, since we wanted a sit down place.

I ordered the Vegetarian Mushroom Ramen ($18) and @alt.aria had the Mussels and Pork Belly ($20). The Vegetarian Mushroom Ramen was really good. The noodles were chewy, and the broth was creamy and flavourful. Like its dish title, it was filled with different kind of mushrooms. It was pretty decent size too.
⠀
I wouldn't say it's the best ramen I've had but it was tasty. As for the price, it's decent for the area that it's in. However, I do think you can find ramen just as good (or better) elsewhere in downtown Toronto for cheaper.
🍜

Also, to anyone reading this: Shoot your shot, respectfully. You might just get what you want 🙃

Winter might be coming but I still gotta have those nice buns 🍔
⠀
Extremely late to the party but last week I finally tried @awcanada's @BeyondMeat burger and I'm obsessed! Since I still choose to eat dairy, I've been adding cheese to it too.
⠀
Prior to becoming vegetarian, A&W was my one of my favourite fast food places for burgers. The Mama burger was my go-to order. Now that I'm vegetarian, I'm glad I can still eat there 😊
⠀
What's your favourite burger place?

Happy Friday the 13th! Here's a pun to make your day a little shawarma 🥙
⠀
I've been wanting to eat shawarma for some time but becoming vegetarian has made it a bit difficult to do so. Luckily, @osmows has a @BeyondMeat version!
⠀
I ordered the Beyond Meat Half and Half. It's a platter of half fries and half rice, covered with Beyond Meat, and drizzled with the Osmow's sauce. I got the large size which was $15.59.
⠀
The Beyond Meat was pretty good. You can tell it's not meat but it gave a pretty similar texture. The spices it was cooked it really helped with masking it's non-meat character. I am glad I got the Half & Half because it was a nice mix of soft and crunchy. I really enjoyed this dish and ate the whole thing 🙈 just wish there was a little more of that Osmow's sauce!
🧆
